Last night as Noelle was playing with her toys in the bathtub, we had the following conversation:
Noelle: Knock, knock.
Chris: Who's there?
Noelle: Water.
Chris: Water who?
Noelle: Water in the cup.
I suppose this is Noelle's first knock-knock joke. The delivery was good, but I plan to help her polish up the punchline.

Mommy Brain, New Car, Bizarro Dream, and The Stupidest Commercial
#1) Chris and I needed to take a car to the shop and so we both were planning to drive there, drop off one car, and I'd take him home in the other. Once Chris pulls out of the driveway, I realize I can't find my keys. I could have sworn they were in my purse. I dumped the purse out...no keys. I go inside the house to look...no keys. Chris then helps me look....still no keys. I go back to the car after about 5-10 minutes of searching. They were in the ignition the whole time.
#2) I'm now a Minivan Driving Mama. (Don't jump to conclusions...I'M NOT PREGNANT!!) We just know that at somepoint we want another kid(s) and the Jimmy needed major work done. It wasn't worth doing it since the car is old, so we got the van. Wow...I feel way too young to have a minivan. I guess I'm REALLY an adult now. :-) Here is a picture one of our friends made for us to celebrate. The only difference is that our van is blue! (And doesn't have the flames.)
#3) Speaking of pregnancy: I had a dream last night that I was having a baby and I forgot to sign up for and put a deposit down for the epidural. (Our hospital requires that you do that in advance.) Wow. Nightmare.
#4) Dumbest commercial of the moment. There's a Benadryl commercial, and the slogan is "You can't pause life." Umm...have they ever taken a Benadryl?? It does work, but makes you so drowsy, I'm pretty sure you have to pause and take a nap.

Fun with Lillian
Some friends of ours from Austin (yes, we actually have friends from Austin) are staying with us this weekend. Their daughter, Lillian, is just a few weeks younger than Noelle. The girls have had a great time playing together.

They played in the front yard with Kevin, and they colored with the sidewalk chalk.
Once Noelle got bored coloring, she decided to taste the dirt. She chose poorly.

After a long day playing, they enjoyed taking a bath together.

Bath Time
Seriously...what kid actually enjoys getting water on her face?? And this is the child who will not drink any water. What a little weirdo. :-)

Better Safe Than Sorry
Well, I (Sarah) learned that I am an even bigger chicken-baby than I thought. This revelation came after a line of very severe storms went through my parents neighborhood (in the Dallas-area) while we were visiting them on Wednesday night. At about 3:45am or so, I woke up to constant lightning and thunder, and I was pretty sure that I heard the tornado sirens going off. Not good. The electricity had gone off in the house, and I really thought that I was hearing "freight train-like" winds outside. I was just certain a tornado was coming our way. The wind was rattling my parents windows and the weather-stripping at the bottom of their front door really loud. I just knew we were gonners. :-) I went in to get Noelle out of her crib and went back to the hall. At this point, Chris wakes up to me holding Noelle in the hall asking my parents, "Is there a tornado?" That got him out of bed pretty fast. Luckily, my mom has an iPhone, so she was able to look up the radar on the internet. We found that there weren't any tornados in the area, thank goodness. By this time I felt pretty silly, but I was still kinda scared. I rocked Noelle, which was wonderful. She never sits still long enough to rock, and definitely doesn't let me hold her like a baby anymore. After a while I asked her if she wanted to go night-night, and she said, "Rock more." Well, OK...she twisted my arm into that one. I was really surprised that Noelle never got upset at the thunder and lightning. She was such a trooper. We eventually got the electricity back after about an hour, and we were able to go back to sleep. The next morning, I felt kinda dumb, like I had over-reacted...until we ventured out and saw all of this damage to houses nearby. Then, I didn't feel so crazy. Luckily, my parents didn't have any damage at their house. Their neighbors across the street still don't have electricity, though, after a day and a half!!

What's crazy is that growing up I wanted to be a meteorologist, and even thought I'd want to be a severe weather storm chaser. After this experience, I think I'd rather be in a cellar. Can anyone help me dig one this weekend??

Best Friends
This was Lucy's last full day with us. Tomorrow we all go to the Dallas area for the Appointment Service for the IMB missionaries. We'll get to see Nick & Amanda and Gary & Kimber (who is a friend from college.) Here are a few pictures from today.

More Noelle & Lucy
Today Lucy and Noelle had lots of fun, although I did have to settle a few disputes over toys. :-) Despite that, they still LOVE playing with each other. We'll often catch them wanting to sit right next to each other, like this. (Notice the HUGE mosquito bite on Noelle's cheek!)

This evening they made quite a game out of opening and closing Noelle's door. Luckily there were no pinched fingers.
Here's a funny story from the day. At one point, Lucy got a crayon and made a mark on the fridge. (Don't worry, Nick & Amanda, Noelle has done the same thing!) Noelle is apparently turning into a very young tattle-tale because she went to Chris and said, "Lucy...color...fridge...Lucy sorry." :-)

Lucy & Noelle
Nick & Amanda are at their candidate conference in Dallas this week, so we get to hang out with Lucy. She and Noelle have been having lots of fun. Here are some pictures from our first 3 days together. We'll try to post more pictures later.
In this first picture Noelle and Lucy are comparing belly buttons.
The girls are getting better at sharing, but they still have some work to do.
