We promised the grandparents that we'd have some pictures of Noelle in her Easter dress on the blog, so here they are! We'll write more later, but wanted to at least get these done. :-)

How To Make Your Spring Break Last Longer
#1) Attempt to potty train your toddler. (Notice the word "attempt".) Noelle has been doing really well communicating with us and has a lot of the signs of potty training readiness. Even though she's a little young, we thought this would be a great week since Chris would be home every day. We started on Monday, and she actually did really well on Monday and Tuesday, but then her "independence" started kicking in big time. At this point, I would sit with her (for quite a while) on the potty with no luck, but then as soon as we got up and put on her training pants she would go. Wednesday and Thursday we stuck with it, but after going through all 12 pairs of training pants and having a toddler who screamed "NO!!!" every time we even said the word potty, I decided to give us a few days to regroup and try a different strategy. I'm not really sure what that is yet... Needless to say, these 4 days felt like 40.
#2) Make sure to schedule Spring Break the week of March Madness. Chris loves basketball like I love the Molten Lava Cake at Chili's. The NCAA tournament is his favorite sporting event of all time. He and a friend have been watching it at our house non-stop. I don't mind this because it only happens once a year and he really enjoys it, but I don't like basketball at all. This makes the month of March seem VERY LONG to me. I do get excited filling out my brackets for the ESPN bracket challenge, but only because I think I'll actually have a chance at the $10,000 prize. Now that my brackets are totally busted, I have lost all interest in the remaining games.
#3) Save yard work and cleaning for Spring Break. BORING. Although, Noelle was in the yard with us, which made it a little more fun. When we were pulling up weeds, Noelle walked over to Chris and said, "Daddy clean the grass." I thought this was very perceptive. :-)
*** Chris had a big personal victory a couple of days ago. He answered the front door and the door-to-door salesman did not ask if his parents were home. It was quite a proud moment for him.

Déjà Vu
TXU Rep: Hello. Are your parents home?
Chris: No, I'm sorry. They aren't. Is there anything I can help you with?
TXU Rep: Well, I have here on my list that I need to talk with Chris.
Chris: That's me.
TXU Rep: Oh..uh...so...you are the one who actually owns the home?
Chris: Yes.
He went on with his spiel about how I needed to switch to TXU, but it didn't really matter. I wasn't buying what he was selling. Actually, he might be better off selling my anti-wrinkle cream.

Dinner with Noelle
Tonight at dinner Noelle did a good job of eating meatloaf and green beans. She then requested some fruit. She was given some peaches, pears, and pineapple, and the following transpired as Noelle began to eat her first bite:
Chris: What fruit is that?
Noelle: Pear.
Chris: That's a peach.
Noelle: Pear.
Chris: You're welcome to call it a pear, but it's a peach.
The piece of fruit has now been in her mouth for a good 10 seconds. I thought Noelle had swallowed it, but I found out otherwise when she stuck her hand WAY back in her mouth, pulled it out, looked at it for a couple of seconds and then said, "Peach."
So, Daddy was right after all. He may be color blind, but he does know his fruit.

Crazy Texas Weather
Yesterday it was 78 and we were wearing shorts. Today it was....

Tomorrow the forcasted high is 66. Crazy!! Can I sue the weather channel if I get a cold from all of this changing weather?? This is what happened when we told Noelle it was time to come in:
News about Noelle: Her favorite phrase lately is "I do it!!" I think she has turned 2 overnight!! I tried to catch these lovely words on film, but no such luck. She's obsessed with seeing herself on the view finder and won't pose for pictures very much anymore.
