Roxii
Mima & Gramps made a quick trip to see us this weekend. We had a fun time with them and meeting their new dachshund, Roxii.

Why my children were in bed at 6:30 tonight
Today was Day 3 of "3-Day Potty Training." I had high hopes for today. I'm not usually a glass-half-full kinda girl, but I was optimistic today. Day 1 and 2 hadn't been completely horrible, and so I was hoping today everything would click for Jared. We would then be back to a 1-kid-in-diapers family.
Yesterday he was accident-free for a stretch of almost 8 hours. This morning, he had accident after accident, and seemed to hate the potty. This was not going as well as I hoped it would.
Fast-forward to 2:45pm. This is where the story gets good.
It's now time to pick Noelle up from school, and I take Jared to the potty before we leave. He's fussy, and I take his temperature...it's 100.5. Bummer.
I decide to still keep him in underwear because I don't want pull-ups to become a crutch for him - or me. "What's the worse that could happen?" I think to myself. I should have thought a little bit harder.
It's such a beautiful day that we walk to Noelle's school. (It takes about 10 minutes and is actually not any longer than driving, parking, etc.)
9 minutes into our walk...BAM. It sounded like a gunshot. Thankfully, it wasn't a gunshot. Unfortunately, one of the back tires of my jogging stroller popped.
I push/lift the stroller to the school while Jared cries because of the loud noise.
Oh, yeah...and I didn't bother putting shoes or socks on the boys today.
I call Chris, he'll come pick me up but it'll be about 30 minutes. No problem, we can play on the playground. But then I remember Jared doesn't have on any shoes. (And he's in pajamas.)
I'm so thankful for a friend who works there that let us stay in her room until Chris could come pick us up. THANKS, ANDREA!!!
By the time we're settled in her room and I decide to take Jared potty, he's already gone everywhere. So, since I don't have any extra clothes I just let him sit there in his tee-tee. You can go ahead and award me the Mother of the Year Award now. :-)
Chris arrives, but then we realize Kyle's carseat is still at the house. He takes Noelle & Jared home to get the carseat, and then comes back for us.
Did I mention this all happens on Wednesday? The same Wednesday when Chris has to go to a meeting where we were counting on eating dinner at church?
I stayed at home with the sick boy.
Today I've been tee-teed on, pooped on, spit on, spit-up on, coughed on, and sneezed on. At least there wasn't any blood or vomit! (Look at me being optimistic!)
So, this is why I put the kids to bed at 6:30. (I'm so glad they don't read clocks.)
And then I ordered Steak Express for dinner.
Days like this I could laugh or cry. I did cry some but laughed a whole lot more. I love my kids and am thankful for each day...even the ones like today.
