So, what did you do yesterday?

If you were my dad, you would have run a trail in the Grand Canyon that goes from the south rim to the north rim. I'm not totally sure on the details, but I think it's about 23 miles long. I also don't remember what they said the elevation change is, but it's obviously a lot. He did it in 9 hours! Makes me feel pretty lazy. :-)

Way to go, Trailgeeze!

Private Investigator

Here's a random thing that happened to us last weekend:

Chris and I were in our front yard doing a lot of yardwork last Saturday, and we got to talking with one of our neighbors. He asked if we had noticed a white truck that was parked near our house. I had noticed it, but just assumed it belonged to our neighbor's family or something. Well, he said he thought it was a PI. He said that the sun visor was up and the windows were very darkly tinted, but that there was someone inside. Apparently, this PI (or another one) had been posted on our street a few weeks ago in a different car & different location. Our neighbor called the police then, who confirmed it was a PI. So, we called this police about this new guy. I was less than thrilled about a PI being so close to our house. The police checked it out, but there isn't anything they can do because we live on a public street. It turns out that the guy was planning on leaving that afternoon, anyway.

I had a few thoughts about this:
#1) I was totally oblivious! He could have been investigating our house and I never would have known!!!
#2) I wondered if while I was doing yardwork, I did anything embarrassing. I bet he got a laugh out of me anyway, I'm not very coordinated with yard tools.
#3) How do you go to the bathroom if you are in your car for 3 days straight? Yuck!
#4) It makes you wonder what's going on with your neighbors that someone would hire a PI. Hmmm.... (Unless he really was investigating us.) :-)

Update on Noelle

Thanks for all of you who have been praying for Noelle. I thought I'd update you all and tell you that she is doing much better now. :-) On Friday night she finally drank almost a whole bottle, and since then she has definitely gotten her appetite back. She's back to her normal, smiley self!

Breaking News!

Well, before I get to the breaking news, I must apologize for not blogging sooner. I haven't been super motivated to blog, I guess. Hopefully I'll get back in the habit.

Anyway, the breaking news around our house...(drum roll, please)....Noelle is getting her first tooth! I guess if that's our breaking news, then we're not too exciting around here. :-) Luckily it hasn't really seemed to bother her much. I'd take a picture, but it's hard to get a good look at it. So here's one of us brushing her gums. :-)

Other than teething Noelle has been dealing with some sort of a stomach bug. She'll eat breakfast, but not much lunch or dinner & she'll hardly drink her bottle either! We went to the doctor and she had lost 13 ounces from last week. That worried me (especially because of her weight issues when she was 2 weeks old), but the doctor said that she looked okay...not super lethargic or anything. She hasn't thrown up in a couple of days, so that is good. Please pray that she starts getting her appetite back.

Speaking of throw up, we have pretty much confirmed that Noelle has an allergy to milk. She's been on soy formula, and had a pretty bad reaction to yogurt a couple months ago. So, I knew to watch out for it. Well...I got a new kind of rice cereal (Wal-mart switched what brand they carry) and assumed it was just made with rice. About an hour after she ate, she threw up everywhere. I looked at the package and it has whey protein in it!!! I was so ticked! The front of the package gave no indication that it had anything extra. (Plus I was bummed because we missed dinner with some friends.) Now I've become a freak about reading food labels. I'm really glad they now list the most common allergens in their foods. Anyway, if she really is allergic to whey and she doesn't grow out of it, she won't be able to have milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, chocolate.... Pretty much the best foods on earth! So we're all really praying that she grows out of it. :-) At least now there are a lot of soy substitutes on the market.

Now to the good part...here are some pics of Noelle:

Lastly, here is a random pic that I'm mainly posting for my parents. They always take pictures when their cars go past a major milestone. Usually Chris & I don't do that, but I happened to be in the car & have a camera when this one happened. How cool is that? :-)

***Update--Noelle threw up again (right after her bath, too)! Please keep praying for her, and for us to know if/when she needs to go to the doctor again. He said that she'd be OK as long as she doesn't get super fussy/lethargic, which she isn't yet. Poor thing!
